Growing up with a set of encyclopedias and the internet (but not a cell phone), I learned early how to research just about anything… thoroughly. Not a total nerd, but I wouldn’t argue.

Every time I planned a trip, I’d fall down a rabbit hole looking for colorful boutique hotels, neighborhood coffee shops, local restaurants, and experiences that felt uniquely tied to a destination. Before long, my Notes app, browser bookmarks, and an alarming number of open tabs couldn’t keep up. Instead of trying to remember where I’d saved that perfect hotel for the hundredth time, I created one place to organize everything. That little organization project eventually became Colorfully Kate.

Today, I share boutique hotel reviews, thoughtfully curated itineraries, neighborhood guides, and travel inspiration for fellow travelers who believe vacations should feel intentional instead of rushed. If your ideal morning includes wandering a new city with an iced latte in hand before the crowds arrive, we’re probably going to get along.

I don’t believe the best trips are the ones where you check off the most attractions. I believe they’re the ones where you discover the neighborhood café you’ll still think about months later, stay at the boutique hotel you’ll recommend to everyone, and come home with stories instead of just photos.
